What's new

đź‘‹ Welcome to the Polaris Xpedition Forum! Please post an introduction thread!

About to add an Xpedition Northstar to the family. I’m a geezer from SW WIsconsin, trading in my ancient (2008) RZR. This will be quite an upgrade!

Most of my motorized addiction has been devoted to cars and motorcycles. The Xpedition will be sharing space in our barn with a Porsche and a BMW R1250 GS Adventure.

You are definitely due for an upgrade! Welcome to the forum!

Hey all! New member to this forum and happy to be here. I’m from Utah and just picked up my ADV and love it!

If there are any folks from Utah here, hit me up and let’s get out and ride!

Hello all. From northeast WI. Picking up a '25 XP 5 Northstar graphite this weekend. Had RZRs for the past 8 years. Mainly trail ride here in WI and several trips to TN Cumberland area. Looking forward to no more dust and real doors!

Welcome to the forum! You’re going to love your new machine and the lack of elements outside of it! It rocks!

Hello all, here from central Virginia. Bought a 2024 ADV5 Northstar in September, bought this for a hunting rig out west, but didn't draw any tags this year, so It has made a couple of trips to Western NC to help with huricane relief instead. It is a very capable machine, and done an excellent job with everything I've wanted it to do. I also own two Kubotas, an RTV1100X and an RTV1140X, both those machines are workhorses, but very slow compared to the Xpedition

Hi, I'm just here to watch and learn.
Started with a Rhino in 2004 and have had 10 or so UTVs since.
Was part of leadership in an early forum (PRC) and traveled all over the US riding Windrock, Brimstone, Hatfield, Paiute, San Juan mountains to name a few. In that era PRC was about the only forum, Polaris donated a few Rangers that we gave away at our rallies.

Spring of 24 I tested a Kinetic for the quietness, reading the reviews cancelled that.
Loved the look of the Xpedition but based on early reviews the 1500XD won out on quietness.
Currently have the 1500, a Pioneer 1000, and a Kubota RTV 1100. All have a purpose.

Me and my family are now older and researching places to ride much more tame than some mentioned above but have discovered our 1500 crew is not eligible to get on some of the trail systems due to the weight, didn't forsee that one.
Anybody have any suggestions for any tame helmet free riding areas I would appreciate hearing from you.

Howdy and welcome to the Xpedition Forum!
Basically, the farther west you go, the more open the off-road riding is. My primary riding area is Southern Utah, Northern Arizona and Southern Nevada. But I’ve also ridden in northern Utah these areas have everything from ultra mild off-roading to the extreme off-roading. And there’s thousands of miles of open country with no permits other than the individual State’s Non-Resident OHV permit required. One such Ultra Mild ride is from St. George, Utah down to the Grand Canyon. No permits required for access to the Grand Canyon, and the road is a maintained gravel road pretty much the entire way down. There’s also a ton of trails splitting off of that route with varying levels of difficulty, and going out to dozens of historical sites.

I’ve heard good things about the trails in Colorado, Wyoming and Idaho as well, but I’ve never been to them.

We done a 3 week loop in 2005 that included some of what you mention. Beautiful country for sure. Retirement is near so maybe go that far again. Interested to hear from a Michigan member.
Thanks for the response, sorry for derailing this thread.
