For those running the HCR long travel kit did you upgrade your ball joints and if so what did you go with? Any other things someone should know before installing os things you wish you would have done? Thanks
Do you happen to know the size or have a link to the ones you've had luck with? We’ve always just used the OEM ball joints. Never had any issues with them.
One thing to know is HCR sends copper banjo washers for the extended brake line. I highly recommend getting the o-ring type banjo washers instead. You can sometimes reuse the original ones, but sometimes they tear pulling the banjo bolt so having some spares on hand is a good idea. We’ve had multiple of the copper ones HCR sends leak.
Super ATV sells a couple nice versions that have grease zurts and can be rebuiltFor those running the HCR long travel kit did you upgrade your ball joints and if so what did you go with? Any other things someone should know before installing os things you wish you would have done? Thanks
Personally, I think the shock set up is awesome on these cars with the horsepower that they put out even if you had a turbo. I don’t think you need to upgrade the axles. Definitely don’t need limiting straps that I’ll limiting straps even on my high performance carsIf going with the HCR kit does it make sense to upgrade axles while you're installing? Should i purchase limiting straps? If so any recommendations?

HCR sells just the axle shafts, without the cv joints on them. The idea is to install the OEM cv joints on the shafts. We’ve done that on one set, but all the Xpeditions we’ve done since, we’ve used tip-to-tip axles from Demon and Cobra. It’s a lot less work.If going with the HCR kit does it make sense to upgrade axles while you're installing? Should i purchase limiting straps? If so any recommendations?
We’re still waiting on our turbo kit to show up from Evo, but I’m hoping it gets here before I start on the HCR on my brothers new Xpedition. It won’t really affect the installation of the turbo kit itself, but being able to stand where the a-arms are, on the right side will make the job a little easier, I think.Im looking at the EVO turbo, is it best to wait to install it after I get the HCR kit installed?
I was told they’d ship within a week of ordering. Hmm… it seems like the vendor is making things up, especially since I haven’t even placed the order yet. I wasn't sure if it would be a bitch to set it up with stock and then change things when I get the HCR kit and 35" tires. We’re still waiting on our turbo kit to show up from Evo, but I’m hoping it gets here before I start on the HCR on my brothers new Xpedition. Evo was originally supposed to ship ours in December. He was 6th on the preorder list. Then we were told a couple weeks ago it would be around a week… still haven’t seen it. It’s not a big issue yet since I’m starting the build next week, but if it’s not here by then, I’ll probably get a little grumpyI was told they’d ship within a week of ordering. I would personally look at pro EFI that’s what I have. Their system has a lot of options like flex fuel and the ability to tune on the flyIm looking at the EVO turbo, is it best to wait to install it after I get the HCR kit installed?
I typically only run 91, so I'm not sure if the flex fuel would have any value for me. Also, I don't want to spend time dealing with tuning; I'd rather just get an extra 40hp and not worry about fiddling with things. I've never had a turbo before, so I'm not speaking from experience, and I welcome to being educated!I would personally look at pro EFI that’s what I have. So flex fuel isn’t only for e85 it’s also for the crap fuel you get when your going thru small townsI’ve seen some of the Pro EFI stuff. We’re looking for more of a “set it & forget it” type of setup.
E85 is hard to get where we are, and we only ever run it in the Pro R and “built” ’16 turbo RZR.
No tuning required flex is for crap fuel alsoI typically only run 91, so I'm not sure if the flex fuel would have any value for me. We’ve got lots of places with non-ethanol fuel around here, and most of the places we’ve ridden. So flex fuel isn’t only for e85 it’s also for the crap fuel you get when your going thru small towns
I would get the Super ATV billet hex tie rods for long travel. Not a lot of confidence in the extenders. I searched everywhere trying to find options for this kit, finally went with these. So far so good. For those running the HCR long travel kit did you upgrade your ball joints and if so what did you go with?
