In August 2023 I bought a brand new Northstar ADV. Within the first 20 miles the front axle pulled out of the front differential. Took it into the shop they fixed it and on the next drive in it the axle pulled out again and the front differential started making noise. They replaced the front differential then it started making noise again shortly after. They just got done replacing the differential for the 5th time. Within that time they have replaced both front wheel bearings, steering rack, front drive line, several bushings in the front end. It has been in the shop well over 200 days. It is currently in the shop where it has been for the past month and still making a lot of noise from the front end. Any advise on where to go from here to get my machine back and working correctly? I feel like Polaris is giving me the run around until it is out of warranty.

Good thing I kept my Kawasaki teryx so I have something to drive while my Polaris is in the shop.

Sounds like you’ve had a rough go of it.

So far I’ve only heard of one machine popping out a stock axle, and the likely reason was that it wasn’t fully seated at assembly.
As to the front end noise, it really depends on what the noise is…
If it’s a growling vibration ONLY when in 4 wheel drive, that seems pretty common. Some have been able to get it to go away for a little while by greasing the driveline center slip yoke. One of my friends replaced the entire driveline and carrier bearing with the Sandcraft setup and said it cleared it up completely.
Others have said greasing the driveline hasn’t affected the growling vibration.

Here’s hoping it gets fixed for you this time.

Holy shit !!! That would make me want to get rid of mine, thats horrible ! And I've had my share of problems, but not anything major like that !! I would ride on Saturday, drop it off on Monday cause something was jacked up, pick it up on Friday, rinse and repeat !!!!! But I still wouldn't trade it for anything else. (for some stupid fucking reason !!) LOL

I’m not really sure, were to go from here. I’m getting pretty frustrated, they told me that I could trade it in and Polaris would give me $3000 more than the dealer would offer me. But I don’t feel that I should hand off this problem to someone else. Polaris said that my machine doesn’t qualify for the buy back program but they haven’t said why and I would think with the constant problems I have had, it would qualify. Polaris offered me a 3 year warranty after they replaced the differential the first time and now I feel that they are just going to experiment with my machine until the warranty is done and then tell me to pound sand. Any suggestions on what I should do next. I feel like I’m stuck with a machine I can’t sell because of the constant problems.

Man !! That's a tough one ! I would think 3000 over trade in value would be pretty dam close to the full price of a new one !?!?!? (Which is basically giving you a new one) I think I would go that route !

Unfortunately with all the problems the dealership only offered me 22k for trade in , so with the $3000 Polaris puts with it I’m at $25k and would have to have an additional 15k for a new machine. The dealership I’m working with has been great, they are just as frustrated as I am. I’m sure any other dealership is going to run the history on the machine and see all the problems. And I can’t honestly tell someone I think this is a good machine and sell it. And I don’t feel that I should have to pay extra for a machine that works.
