Clutch Weight Question

I started out with the full Gilomen clutch kit and ECU tune. I’m still running their ECU tune, but have switched all the clutch kit components over to aftermarket assassins.

Basically, I was having trouble getting my rpms dialed in where I wanted them. Also my machine is always loaded up very heavy. So I switched the clutch kit over to Aftermarket Assassins high load helix, Buttershift washers and Billet Primary Cover plate. AAs primary clutch weights are slightly heavier starting weight than Gilomen, and have a different weighting profile.
Now I’ve got it running 8200-8400 rpm instead of 8600-8800. The higher set gave more snap off the line, but the lower set allows more top end speed, while still being considerably more snappy than OEM.
JT, Which helix did you use, I ordered and installed the ‘high load-remove EBS’ helix, the stock helix I took out had the EBS pocket. I noticed last week while hunting in WV that I was having to ride my brakes more to get down the mountain. I did some research and found that the pocket in the helix gives some braking even if the primary bearing is not a 1 way bearing. I was under the impression that these machines did not have any EBS, so I oredered based on that. I have ordered another high load helix, but with the EBS pocket, I’ll report back after I get it installed how it does coming down the same grade.

We do the High Load w/EBS. It doesn’t engine brake as well as the OEM helix but it definitely helps.

I got the high load helix w/EBS installed, it makes a huge difference on the hills. I was confused as the Polaris specs for the Xpedition say ‘N/A’ for ‘EBS’, I assumed it didn’t have any engine braking on it, so ordered the first helix with it removed. It is back to where it was with the OEM helix, or very close to it, coming down steep grades as far as holding back and not having to ride the brakes.

How can you tell which high load helix that you have? My order just says high load helix 1062. No mention of EBS or not. Can you tell by looking at it? I am guessing that I have it since I haven't noticed any issues in Colorado

Thanks, next time I take the cover off to blow it out I will take a look
Back when you ordered your kit, he didn’t technically offer a non EBS… You’d just have the High Load 1062 With EBS.. The “Non EBS” Helixes are pretty much for people who use their machine like a RZR, and/or w/turbo… (ALL GAS NO BRAKES)
