So, without reason, my battery stopped charging. I was fortunately moving it to the garage when the steering froze (it has electric steering if you didn't know) and everything went dead.

Battery showed 10.2 volts. Found out that is when everything shuts down.
Trickle charged it for 2 hours, back to 12.3 volts, ran fine, steering back, got it in the garage.
Took it to the dealer a month ago.

  • Factory alternator showed charging. Polaris said to check jump cable.
  • Cable showed fine, Polaris said it is the wiring harness, we will send you one
  • instead Polaris sent a new alternator and jump cable. New alternator was defective
*Polaris just sent a second alternator, to be installed today.

This is an FYI post only. I have a good relation with the dealer, and this is on the extended insurance so they have to play the game of running everything thru Polaris. Polaris is the one that takes a week or 10 days to get back to the dealer. I will keep you posted.

Now for all the Can Am haters out there, My son and I both have X3s, never had this delay with Can Am.
