My wife is barely 5' and I watched a video by another Xpedition owner and visibility was an issue. So, after a little searching I found some 2 1/4" seat risers. The installation was a snap about 15 minutes per seat max! I got mine from 802 Off Road: Online Store | 802 Off Road Again, the...
My next accessory was the stock rear bumper. IMHO Polaris should have included a bumper. Especially at the cost of these new machines. Looking at everything I wanted to do to our Xpedition I decided to stay stock. I thought it would allow me to mount flags etc. where the HD bumper would...
So, I've slowly but surely been adding accessories to our Polaris Xpedition ADV 5 NorthStar. At least what the wallet will bare right now. So far, all the accessories have come with easy-to-understand instructions. If it's a Polaris accessory, you'll have to download and print the instructions...
I had the dealer check out my winch and they said I did have the auto stop but is wasn't working. Polaris is replacing my winch assembly to include the auto stop. WOW! Since they are replacing the winch, I ordered the remote. (:
I think it looks clean. With the ADV 5 there is not a lot of options because of the AC and heater ducting etc. I think you only loose 1 switch location also.
I added a handle into bottom middle of the rear window and that eliminated the window flexing and I had much better control when opening and closing the rear window. You have hundreds of handle options on amazon. Just make sure there are using the 3M automotive adhesive tape.
PCI is getting really close with completing their radio installation. Mounts are in fab now. Rugged just got a vehicle to work with so they are a tad behind. It will be interesting to see what they both come up with. I've seen PCI's install but not at liberty to release yet.
Here are too options I saw1 I I saw at the Super Sand show in CA last September. The other I got from Facebook or this forum. I don't remember. I like the Antenna mounting the best. You could mount whips or flags easily. Notice on the other mount they cut some of the plastic away from the...
I think SDR Motorsports will be coming out with something similar soon. Saw their proto at the Super Sand Show in CA last month.
Here is a link to their website. They will add their Xpedition products as they come available. Polaris RZR XP1000 Xpedition Just noticed that the title of the link...
I saw an Xpedition ADV 5 today with System 3 Rims (SB6's) and System 3 tires (RT320's). It was in at a local maintenance shop for an ECM program and the Gilomen clutch setup. I measured the width at the front tires, and it was almost 68"s wide. I also measured the height of the RT 320 33"'s and...
No interference at all. Attached are pictures from each side with rear doors full open using the 6" strap! I probably could have gone longer but nylon stretches so I elected to go conservative.
As everyone knows, for a large person the rear doors do not open enough. I looked at Polaris's design and saw that their door straps are wrapped around the window wires then arrached to the door and door frame. The straps only measured 5 to 5 1/4 inches long. So with some left over 1" straps...
Remove the front seat, remove the battery box cover and look in under the consol and you can see the Loop, u joint and Zerk fitting and a huge hole used to give access to grease the zerk fitting. This area also gives access to where you can add the adapter to remove the speed limit of 15mph...
I see on Polaris's web site it says the auto stop is standard on the ADV 5 Northstar and another place it says it's an accessory. So I'll call Polaris tomorrow and see what they say. If it's stock I want it!
Answer: Standard on the NorthStar.
The Auto Stop and remote are stock with the 6K winch but not with the 4500 winch. You have to order that and the remote as accessories for the 4500 winch.
You should also let it run for about 30 seconds after coming to a stop before shutting down. Especially important if you have another vehicle that has a turbo.
I do not think the auto Stop feature is standard on the NorthStar. At least mine does not have it.
UPDATE: 11/21/2023: Mine was broken apparently and Polaris is replacing the entire winch.
The weight issue is a very interesting topic. Many states have OHV weight limits well under the Xpeditions weight. So how will the states license these heavy vehicles? The AZ Governor just VETOED a bill that would have raised our OHV weight from 2500 lbs. to 3500 lbs. Stay tuned!!
