What's new

New Xpedition Owner - Maybe!

I think it’d be more likely that they’d do a turbo Xpedition than a 1500. Either way, I’d probably upgrade for it. I’ll be curious what, if anything, they change on the ‘26s. The changes from the ‘24s to the ‘25s were negligible. And I don’t think they’ll be doing any major changes with the next year model.

Love my 24 ADV2! Wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I had a nice 2 seat Trailhead edition General that I traded in for a XP5 Northstar. I miss the agility of my General, but having this XPedition makes up for that. True, it’s was a bit louder than my General, but some sound insulation took care of that. The sealed cockpit with a cabin air filter and AC on the XP is amazing at keeping out dust.
‘What type of insulation? Where did you put it?

I have a 25... it is loud.

Putting the stereo into auto level up helps. For short rides, we just turn up the stereo. For long rides, we added a Carda.
To try to cut down on some of the noise, we added floor and bed matts. They help a little. Adding the RotoKap on the back seems to have helped a little too. I have not added the other sound deadening materials yet and to be honest, I am not sure if I will.

I had a ton of left over Sound Assassin strips from when I did my jeep hardtop via "Hothead Headliners", then followed up with Siless 80 mil on top of that. I did this all along the interior back firewall of my General and under the seats, and now my rear interior firewall and under the rear seats of my XP5. I will tell you, when/if you do this, it will be permanent, so do it where it will not show. It does make a noticeable difference. I guess you could go really crazy and do under the headliner, but I didn't want to go that far. Head over to the Polaris General Forum and search for "sound deadening". Tons of ideas, materials, and methods.

Had a '17 General. I had Fox RC2 shocks on it. My Xpedition XP5 rode better than the General. XP5 does have a longer WB which helps. Springs on the XP5 sagged so I installed Schmitty springs, nitrogen caps and charged the shocks. Rides nice. Also installed SATV long travel kit but haven't gotten to take it out since then to make a report.
As far as sound goes. Way louder than my General was. Installed sound deadening everywhere. Didn't help much. Installed 34" tires and Aftermarket Assassins cruiser clutch kit. Both reduced rpm and therefore helped with noise.
It's not a speed demon by no means but the full cab makes it worth it.
