I have a 2024 Polaris General and looking at a new 2025 Xpedition XP 5 Northstar… here to learn before making a final decision… appreciate all the guidance.

Had a 2021 General which had an older Thumper Fab cage on it and we could not get windshield and doors for it, we wanted a heater. So we sold it and bought a ADV 5 littler louder but no dust, A/C and heat no comparison. We are not doing long arms or any major changes, as if we need speed we will take out the X3.

Traded in my 23 general and bought 25 expedition adv navastar and love it plenty oof power great ride no dust well a little bit but working on that wish we had traded sooner

Hit the lottery, keep the General, buy a Xpedition and a Pro R Factory. That's my plan. I have the Xpedition so my lineup will be Xpedition, Ranger 1,500 and the Pro R Factory.

I had a nice 2 seat Trailhead edition General that I traded in for a XP5 Northstar. I miss the agility of my General, but having this XPedition makes up for that. True, it’s was a bit louder than my General, but some sound insulation took care of that. The sealed cockpit with a cabin air filter and AC on the XP is amazing at keeping out dust.

As far as loud… is yours a 2024 or 2025 model… hearing the 24 is much louder… thx

I have a 25... it is loud.

Putting the stereo into auto level up helps. For short rides, we just turn up the stereo. For long rides, we added a Carda.
To try to cut down on some of the noise, we added floor and bed matts. They help a little. Adding the RotoKap on the back seems to have helped a little too. I have not added the other sound deadening materials yet and to be honest, I am not sure if I will.

I've not heard of any design differences in the 24/25 models concerning sound. Maybe the clutch RPM issue, but mine has had that maintenance since it was a late '24 model. I do know someone who has a ADV model and from what he's told me, the sound vibration is worse since the motor is directly under the bed, and the bed is open to the driver, which also heats up the floor of the cab. It can probably be sound/heated isolated as well if you apply your brain-power. The XP and XP5 have a rear firewall, and I've dampened mine down pretty well. My thoughts are...it's a SXS, and all SXS have sound issues. You can dampen anything down with some ingenuity and research. I believe my cockpit is now no louder than my General...it depends how fast/RPM I'm at. I think my best advice to you would be to test drive the machine before you buy it, or drive one of your friends. :)

I have read that the 25 is much quieter than the 24

Imo these machines are not loud at all compared to others with similar power.
I can only compare it to my 2016 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that I paid about the same money for. Its way louder than the Jeep on the Jeep's worse day.... but it is also way more fun than the Jeep. I've been down trails that I would never take the Jeep. On day one, the noise was an annoyance, two weeks later, we don't even notice it.

Yes,when you compare it to a Jeep, which isn't a fair comparison. And cost really isn't the same considering how much it would cost to make the Jeep as capable.

If noise levels are going to be an issue, I’d recommend the Ranger XD 1500. It’s incredibly quiet for a SxS. You can still get it with hvac, but the seating and ride aren’t as comfortable as the Xpedition. With a bunch of upgrades in the suspension, their ride can be greatly improved though.

If noise isn’t a big concern, the Xpedition is in a class of its own! The comfort of its seating and suspension are great, even stock, and with even just a little work on the suspension (adjusting the ride height and nitrogen pressure) it gets even better. The Xpedition has the power to be quite sporty, while having the bed and cabin space to offer more utility as well.

I think the Xpedition is my next ride… now just wondering if I am better to wait for the 2026 model… curious about model year changes
You got a ride for this season, so I would wait. If they come out with a Xpedition 1500, I would consider trading in my 2025 for a 2027. Yes, I meant to skip 2026, I am not fond of buying 1st year machines (cars, trucks, UTVs, MCs, etc.)

If they put the 1500 on the Xpedition can bet that I will own one. At that point the only thing I would change is the windshield… I want driver and passenger side vents without need to open a gap all the way across…
