Maybe a stupid question, but why would you want to bypass the fan ???Has anyone put a fan bypass kit on their expedition ! I can't seem to find the plug to tee into for the kit.
Why? There is no reason to do that. As my daddy used to say "that's just something to sell"Has anyone put a fan bypass kit on their expedition ! I can't seem to find the plug to tee into for the kit.
It is a fan overide that runs normally then you can turn it on when when needed and run the engine at about 185 .Maybe a stupid question, but why would you want to bypass the fan ???
Seems way easier to just run Amsoil Synthetic and not worry about running at 200 instead of 185 !! That way you don't have to watch the temp guage the whole time your riding !!......... Depends where you ride.Seems way easier to just run Amsoil Synthetic and not worry about running at 200 instead of 185 !! That way you don't have to watch the temp guage the whole time your riding !!......... Just my opinion![]()
Absolutely !! I thought he meant you had to turn it on manually, I didn't know you could set it to whatever temp you wanted !!! Of course it would be great to set it lower !!!Depends where you ride.
Summers here in southern Nevada run around 106°f to 118°f. If the fan waits until 205°to come on, it’s extremely easy to hit 215°-220° really fast. It’s much better having it come on at a lower temp.
I don't want to void the warranty yet or I would . The fan overide is a cheap fix for now .Ah ok. A tune from Aftermarket Assassins, Gilomen and others does that without the need for a switch, or messing with wiring. They drop the cooling fan on/off temps from 205°/201° to 186°/185° in the ECU. That and a slew of other fixes make an ECU tune well worth doing.
I definitely cannot say that your warranty won’t be affected, but I haven’t heard of any warranty claims being rejected lately over having an ECU tune. Including one that I know personally that is in for a new motor.I don't want to void the warranty yet or I would . The fan overide is a cheap fix for now .
I bought a new ECU with the tune so I could swap back to the factory tuned one so if I needed warranty work done I could swap it in !!I don't want to void the warranty yet or I would . The fan overide is a cheap fix for now .
Hours/miles are probably logged in the ecu.I bought a new ECU with the tune so I could swap back to the factory tuned one so if I needed warranty work done I could swap it in !!
