The Forum has been very helpful. I live near Austin Texas. I have a deposit on a Polaris Xpedition XP 5 1000 Northstar, BUT the dealerships in Texas cannot sell it because of some holdup from the state of Texas. I see from the Members Map (which is great) that there are a few Texas owners out there. HOw did you purchase your ride? DId you go out of state? Does anyone know why there is a holdup and/or when it might be settled? Thank you.

Welcome to the forum @AustinCountry 🍻 What dealership did you go through?

Welcome from Fredericksburg! I haven't heard of any state hold-ups, but I think someone on this forum said that a unit didn't ship with an MSO so their dealer couldn't sell it to them until Polaris sent it to them. I think that's the only irregular hold-up that I have heard of. If you find anything out please keep us posted!

You live in Fredericksburg , very nice - thank you for the welcome! Where did you buy your ride? I've been told the same story from the dealer in Family Sports (Spicewood) and Ride Now (Austin)

I don't have an Xpedition yet. I haven't been in FBG too long so I need to make the rounds and see what all my options are for local Polaris dealers.

The Texas Holdup is over. I was able to purchase my Xpedition XP 5 Northstar today. That's the good news. The bad news is when I got it home and drove it over 15 mph, it sounded like the drive shaft was banging on something under the seats. The sound was different than a jar of marbles (previously posted as an issue). Has anyone else experienced this?

Pull the skid plate and see if the drive shaft is rubbing the safety hoop

Thanks JohnDeerFarmer and JtBarlow for the advice. Before I tackled doing what you suggested, I called the dealer to see if they would fit it on on Friday (I called Friday morning) - there were very apologetic (I've had the Xpedition a whole sum of 1 day), and offered to pick it up (I live an hour away from the dealer) - so I agreed. They had it ready that afternoon, I picked it up today (Saturday) even though they said they would deliver it. As to what the problem was - are you ready for this? There was a missing 'C' clip on the AXLE! The axle had pulled out (that is what they told me). I was able to test drive it before taking it home. All is good - so far :) The Dealer is Kent Powersports in Kyle Texas - great staff. It was a Polaris assembly problem. Kent in their checkout of everything didn't drive it over 15 mph (which is the speed needed to make the noise).
