Cold air around gear shift lever

Has anyone figured out what to do with the air coming in the gearshift lever!
I stuck a piece of Siless insulation to a piece of Thermo-Tec 13590 24" X 48" Adhesive Backed Heat Barrier. Slide the shifter shaft through the hole. Now when you move the shifter the insulation moves with it. Make the insulation long enough that it covers the open slot over the complete range of shifter movement.

My dealership has been leaning on Polaris about this. They put a shift boot on an open station 570 Ranger, but not on the northstar Xpeditions. Sounds like the '25 Xpeditions will have several design changes. Hopefully they'll update the '24s

I got my machine back today from dealership. They installed a boot from something else on mine. It's not perfect, but it's a damn sight better than it was. Part number they used is 5418112.
