Hey guys I was wondering how these units do in casual sand riding just purchased a 2025 ADV 5 Ultimate still stock tires 32's come in next week I am running a Gilomen Clutch and ECU tune would like your input thank you !!

I’ve used my Xpedition all over Sand Mountain, Sand Hollow and out in the Coral Pink Sand Dunes area. It’s done great in all of those areas, especially with the clutch kit and ECU tune.
Tires will definitely make some difference. Stiffer/harder rubber tires won’t do as well in the sand as the softer rubber tires will. Also, I run beadlock wheels so I can air the tires down to 8 psi when the ride is in mostly sand and that makes a big difference too.

If it’s strictly sand, then yes. If it’s trails with a mix of sand and hardpack, then I typically run 2wd and standard. Only switching to 4WD as needed.
Sport mode I only really run in the sand. It feels a little more touchy than I like on hardpack or gravelly trails. And then comfort mode anywhere that’s slow or technical

Agree with JTs comments - mine has done great at Little Sahara, OK with same tune and clutch. I also run the SS360 tire (12” wide on rear) on all 4 there. If the sand is hot and dry it is very fine and powdery and some sort of sand tire helps a lot.
