A dealer about 45 minutes from me has a blue ADV 5 sitting in inventory. I think it mostly depends on location and how many orders each dealer got.

Radios at the least are a must for us. Most of our rides are fairly large groups and they tend to get strung out on the dusty desert trails. In a Northstar I could see going without coms but they’re good noise reduction on open cabs as well as being able to talk to passengers without yelling.

They weren’t difficult at all. There’s 2 torx screws on the inside that hold the outside a-pillar cover on and 1 plastic push rivet you get to with the door open. Then you just remove that outer cover and put the mirror in its place.

Well crap… looks like I was wrong… again… just got the stock wheels and tires back from my brother. 30x11r15 rear, 30x10r15 front. But all 4 wheels are 15x7. I checked each physically lol.

On the Northstar Ranger they did a 29/11R15 on the rear but the 2020 and newer General XP line had same width tires front and rear just different tread patterns. And then on this Xpedition it was same tires all the way around which is a lot better.

My Xpedition came with all 4 tires and rims the same size. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just tested it on mine and balance and fade work perfectly.

I knew about the rifling but wasn’t aware they’d changed up that much! Either way, this machine rides well enough I don’t think I’ll bother at all with the tuning. Only real complaint is I wish they’d have put 2.5”s on the front same as the back instead of the 2”s they went with. No issues...

XP 5 Ultimate here. I have run the pre-loads down on the shocks from factory settings to get a little more ground clearance, which right now is at 13” at the front A-arm. That puts the front door at 17.5”

I definitely agree on re-springing them. I’d prefer to have it springed specifically for the weight I carry. Not sure I’d bother with tuning. These machines ride so well straight from the factory and I have it on setting 2, so I can go softer or firmer if I ever need. Only problem with Shock...

There’s definitely some clay but it was a deep rut several others had been through before I got to it. Probably wouldn’t have gotten stuck if it wasn’t sitting on the skid plate. Only had to be pulled about 5 feet to get out. Fun times anyway 😊

The tires? They’re BFG Mud Terrain 30/15s on Raceline beadlocks. They’re great all-around tires. I put 3000 miles on them with my General and then swapped them on to this. Still 60% tread.

Early morning is the only time cool enough to go out and ride where I live so we got up at 4:am and rode to the top of a Mesa to watch the sunrise.

They don’t mention in the video there’s 2 tweeters on top of the dash besides the 2 6” speakers under the dash. Northstars and Ultimates get the full system while the premium will have a lower end stereo without the subwoofer and no ride command

The stereo in ours worked great. We wear over the ear com headsets while riding and could hear the stereo well even with them on. The only distortion I heard was when the stereo was cranked clear up but that went away by turning it down a notch. Even at full rev and with headsets on we never had...
