Ah I see what you mean. The video isn’t really clear on those. The driver side appears to bolt to the outer hinge plate but it doesn’t show what he’s bolting to on the passenger side. You might try calling them and asking for some clarification.
Another connection point is the bed harness. The tail/brake light harness plug has the camera wires in it too.
If you’ve done W. D. Electronics turn signal kit, it plugs in between the plugs for the bed at the left rear of the frame and I’ve had them push pins out of the plug before.
I swear, some filters act like someone put them on with an impact gun 😂
And I’ve known people who’ve installed them with a filter wrench so just putting that out there 😊
Also, I tuck a piece of rag under the oil filter to catch any oil that drips out when removing the old filter. Otherwise it’ll run down the side of the motor and leave you wondering if you have a leak or if it’s residue from the service.
If it gets down to it, I use a pair of Channel Locks. It’ll crinkle the filter in but should do the job.
Just remember, when you put the new filter on, lube the gasket and then hand snug! Don’t use the filter wrench to install or you’ll be back to the same problem next service.
This is my Brothers with the 6000# winch. It’s definitely a lot more open.
I just double checked on mine with the stock 4500# winch and the only area that would be a problem for the is angled up.
If/when ever have an issue with the stock wheel bearings, my plan is to change them out with Sandcraft taper bearings. I’m running a really deep offset wheel and my Xpedition is always loaded pretty heavy so I know I’m putting a lot of strain on them, but no issues so far with 2000 miles on them.
It would be a rather extreme angle before it would rub on the bumper. The only situation where I could see that happening would be self-recovery, and I don’t think it would be enough to damage the rope.
It definitely shouldn’t let water flow freely past it.
I would check all 4 sides and make sure the edge gasket is sitting as evenly as possible on the frame and lower sill. And also check the clamp bolts and make sure they’re all properly tightened. (Careful not to over-tighten them, as it can...
They have a model that has a tailgate option with mounting for a spare tire, but they say it’s limited to a 40 pound and 29” maximum tire.
You might want to look for an inside bed or receiver hitch spare tire mount
According to this graphic, Arizona residents should be issued a decal with their street legal plate. It’s different from the non-resident but should cover the same stuff.
One of the fellows with us when we got the initial warning was an Arizona resident and his SxS was registered street legal in Arizona. The officer said he was fine, it was just us non-residents he was warning.
During the course of our “Discussion” the officer admitted it was just about revenue...
We tried arguing this exact point with them and was told it’s still required for any vehicle that’s primary use is off-road. Even if it’s registered as Street legal.
We were told this by both the fish & game officer who gave us warnings and the Department when we called them.
I’m sure someone...
Yeah, I don’t really see the point of a weight limit on SxSs. Maybe if there’s a particular area with a flimsy bridge… but otherwise it’s pointless.
Another thing I love about this area is it’s got a great SxS community and a ton of events. Starting the first of October, there’s Trail Hero, a...
I’m not certain on Arizona UTV street legal regs but I know they do allow a lot.
In Utah you can street legal license your SxS and drive it anywhere except 4+ lane primary highways, freeways, or roads specifically posted with no ATV/UTV. 2 lane highways are allowed even if they open up to 4...
Not exactly sure… UPS label says 94 pounds but I’d guess 15-20 pounds of that is the packaging. The side pieces are steel and the top tray is aluminum.
Per RBO, the max weight for the top tray is 60 pounds.
And it was super easy to assemble. There’s only 3 pieces, not including accessory mounts. Just the 2 sides and the top tray. It came in a huge box and really well packaged.
We waited… and then waited some more! Finally got the Razorback Off-road Rack and it was worth the wait! It just looks so much better than all the others I’ve seen.
I’m running a Gilomen ECU tune and I still get the O2 sensor code when I’m in the higher elevations. It doesn’t seem to affect anything. Still have full power. It usually seems to pop up if I idle very much, and usually goes away after a bit of riding.
Howdy and welcome to the Forum👋
I live in Nevada, but we’re right on the border with Arizona so the majority of our riding is in Arizona. We’ve been riding for years on the Arizona Strip south of St. George and there’s still tons of places we haven’t explored yet. Definitely agree! Love...
I mean… if it’s apples to apples, the Polaris Ranger is as quiet as a can-am defender. And you get the entire 82 horsepower to play with!
The Xpedition is an entirely different class. It’s intended for sport and adventure whereas the Defender and Ranger are intended for utility.
Just a side note on my clips…
The first one, we were doing clutch tuning. So that was full throttle from a rolling 5mph start.
The second clip was running the same specifically to get as true a reading as possible after the insulation.
The speeds the clips show weren’t important in context...
95db-98db stock. ADVs are slightly louder than XPs.
This clip is an XP Northstar after doing a performance ECU Tune and performance clutch kit, but before I did the insulation.
And this is after insulation…
We aren’t really in the SxS repair and Upfit business. We just do all the work to our own machines and then Buddies see it and want it done to theirs 😂
Yes, you can control the camera from the app. There’s also a GPS remote that can add gps info to the video, like speed, direction and elevation. It can also be used to start and stop recording. It has strap so you can attach it to your steering wheel.
Let me preface this by saying: I’m not affiliated with Insta360 in any way. All experiences and opinions are my own.
We started out with the GoPro as well, and we still use the Hero 12 now and then. There was just a lot of times we missed something awesome because the camera wasn’t pointed...
Polyfil doesn’t collapse like fiberglass insulation does when it gets wet. I leave the areas directly under the floor drains open so it doesn’t collect all the mud and debris right there. I also scoop or vacuum out as much as I can before washing the interior.
From the bottom, the holes in the...
There is always the option for the Rigid driving lights from Polaris. They are a bit expensive, but they’re really good lights. Also, they’re mostly pre-wired in just needing the dash switch and a Y-harness. Those will come with the light set from Polaris, along with a metal mounting bracket for...
Another camera suggestion would be the Insta360 X4. The GoPros have excellent stabilization and horizon lock, but they only video where they’re aimed.
The Insta360 X4 also has excellent stabilization and horizon lock, but also takes full 360 video. You don’t need to aim it in any particular...
Howdy, and welcome to the Forum John!
My Brother and I also got our Xpeditions at Triple S! They were the first 2 XP5 Ultimates they got in. Awesome people to work with up there!
I’m a little late with this, but as promised, here’s pictures of how I insulate the Xpeditions.
The majority of the work is done from underneath, so I start with removing the entire skidplate. Then, using foil backed 3/8” foam insulation, on the lower firewall. I leave the pieces long enough to...
This is the closest I can find. It’s not quite the same but you might be able to make it work
https://a.co/d/b7FXUnG
You might also ask a Polaris dealer if they can get the boot alone. The website doesn’t show everything that’s available.
If the rattle is rpm specific, it’s most likely in the engine or parts directly connected to the engine. If it’s speed specific, then it’s in the drivetrain.
An issue pretty much all Polaris have is the drive shafts are welded with the U-joints out of phase. While the shaft angles aren’t...
have you run a software update on it?
Sounds more like a hardware issue but doesn’t hurt to try. Even if it’s already on the latest update, you can re-run it.
Unfortunately, quality control has been lacking in the extreme on these machines. Not just from Polaris, but their suppliers as well. Polaris seems, for the most part, to be taking care of issues as they’re found. But most of the problems wouldn’t have happened with proper quality control and...
