Wellnuts Access

Hi!

Does anyone know how to access the wellnuts behind the front edge of the dash? I had a couple drop away reinstalling screws.

Thanks!
Those like to fall down in if you put any pressure on them when I’m screwing them.
It depends which ones fell. They could be on top of A/C assembly or clear down by the sub.
You can reach over the tunnel side under the steering column and feel around, both a little on top of the HVAC, and down by the sub. If they’re closer to the passenger side, you’d need to disassemble the lower portion of the dash there.

Easiest thing is to get a couple new one from the dealer lol.

The ones that fell are pretty much in the middle. I have no issues buying a couple replacements, but don't know how to get behind the lip to reinstall.

being close to the center, you may be able to just pry the front of the dash up. You’ll need to unbolt the windshield latch and remove the center dash panel, and all the bolts along the front of the dash. It’s just rubber wellnuts and they just push in from the top.
If they’re closer to the edge you’ll need to prop the windshield up and remove the rams so you can remove the inner a-pillar panels. Then just lift the front of the dash enough to get the wellnuts in.

Just be careful not to push on the bolts when reinstalling them. I usually thread them in by finger, until they’re close, so they’re fully engaged in the wellnut. And still no down pressure until the head is against the panel.
