Running too much on pavement in 2wd can wear out the splines inside the cv joints on the axles, and the pop could be it jumping a spline. Though usually at that point it’ll do it under power as well.
When locked in 2wd, even a slight difference in tire pressure creates a different diameter to the tires and can load up the axles pretty badly. It has to unload at some point, whether it’s turning in a direction that will unload it, or breaking traction with the tire.
It’s always best practice to run turf mode whenever you’re on pavement or hardpack, 2wd whenever you’re on loose material, and 4WD

I agree on what you are saying. There is about 200 miles on it and it’s been doing this since new. Went back to the dealer to have them look at it They thought it wasn’t fully ingauging in high. Adjusted the shift linkage and it went away and now it’s back. I’ve never had an issue with rzr’s on pavement in 2 wheel drive
