I’m about to purchase an xpedition Northstar and dealer has asked if I want a 4 year extended warranty for $1599.00. What are your thoughts on if it’s worth it?

I opted for the extended warranty and it really all came down to one reason. With the xpedition being a brand new model, no history on what issues, they will need to correct over time, it was a no brainer for me. Not sure what your dealership charges for labor hours, but I believe mine is $135 an hour. My thought was it would not take too many repairs to pay for itself on labor alone.

I’d rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

My dealership had a aftermarket warranty company that was better than polaris. So I put on a 5 year warranty, lots of pricey things can go wrong on my northstar.

Buy it. I have owned mine for 6 months and have 110 miles on it and has been in four wheel drive once. I have already replaced a leaking shock and is currently at the dealer for a leaking oil pan. Also everybody needs to make sure their main electrical harness is not rubbing on the driveline. This is a simple inspection when removing bottom cover that could have drastic consequences. Not sure if aftermarket warranties cover ride command though. Make sure you purchase any kind before six month factory expires.

I have been buying Riders Advantage Extended warranties from my dealer. Had the front diff repaired once and then replace on my Turbo R for free. On the Xpedition just had the steering rack/eps replaced. Might have still been under Polaris 6 month warranty but still a repair had to be done. As was said, it's a new machine and bound to have issues.

Same as everyone else. I purchased the Polaris warranty. I negotiated and was able to get them to drop the price to $1,000.00. First year production, worth the peace of mind.

Same here, bought the extended warranty, 5 yr, well worth the peace of mind on first year.

I purchased the 4 year on my 2dr XP Northstar, my dealer charged me $3,400, I surely wouldn't hesitate if it was $1,600. I am concern that Polaris's extended warranty will not cover a whole lot, you need to be lawyer to read the extended warranty policy. I did not know there are 3rd party ones availalbe, will check into that the next time. One other positive about Polaris's extended warranty is that it is transferrible, so I have been told that makes a big difference if you trade while that warranty is still in effect.

So I bought my xpedition april 13 2024, my warranty is up 10-13-24. I just bought a 54 month polaris extended warranty for 2650 from the dealer I bought my xpedition from. I contacted I69 powersports, and 2 local dealers in ohio. I69 was 3200, one ohio dealership was 3500, the other was 3300. My drive shaft has already had the rattle and they greased it. So for me it is worth it for piece of mind.

Already mentioned my front differential replaced. Since then I had steering rack/eps replaced. Easy for me to say because, it ain't my money, but I'm going to say it anyway. Just do it!

I found two companies that will provide an extended warranty… Torque and McGraw. Does anyone have any feedback good or bad on these two providers?
