Hi, new here and picking up a Xpedition next week - waiting financing. Stopped by the dealership to take a look at the sound proofing I had added and noticed the front driver side and rear driver side door were not flush. I’d guess would need to close another 1/4 inch to be flush. Dealer didn’t know if it could be adjusted and all the techs were gone for the day. Anyone know if this is normal or if the door is adjustable that much?

There is a little adjustment you can do on the latch loop that may pull it in a bit. There’s 2 bolts that hold the loop plate, and if I recall correctly, you need to get a wrench in behind the backing plate to hold the nuts to tighten them.

Thanks! I’m hoping the doors can adjusted better.

I took delivery Monday and the dealer had made adjustments and was way better and I thought looked pretty good. (1st pic) Tonight I tried locking all the doors, all locked easily but the front driver door after a few attempts I got it to lock but it seemed sticky. I opened and closed the door a few times and when closing with a bit more force it closed further in than normal (2nd pic) and needs extra force on the handle to open so guessing some adjustment is not correct. I’ve got 50 miles on it so not sure if maybe the door settled? I’d try adjusting myself but do not want to make it worse.

I see the adjustment bolts on the loop. I’ll try adjusting myself tomorrow and report back.
Looks like it’s sitting low as well. The striker loop adjustment is just for in/out adjustments.
If you close the door slowly, and feel it bump the latch, without sliding smoothly into the latch, it may need some up/ down adjustment. For the front doors, you have to remove the mirror and fender panel to access the hinge bolts. When you do, you only need to slightly loosen them so that any adjustment you make will hold in place while you tighten them back up.
Once properly adjusted, it shouldn’t sag or vibrate out of alignment.

I think I got the striker loop adjusted pretty well. Door is almost flush and level. Door locks and opens/closes without force. Thanks for the tips. Now I just need to fix a loud whistle at 25 mph plus on the driver side front door.
