Hey yall, im fairly new to sxsing... my expedition is my first... having a few issues and im about to do my first belt change...aftermarket clutch pros and cons?
How much difference did the tune make?Did you use gilomen, i have their clutch kit in mine.Am very happyGilomena clutch kit and tune! You won't regret it. Follow up with RPM exhaust for a much more pleasant sound.
I have the Gillomen clutch and tune kit on my 2025 and it’s a good kit, but have I had it to do over again I would just purchase the tune alone. The tune woke it up a bit with a noticeable improvement in throttle response and maybe slight horsepower increase and that is great however, the clutch kit, although has some adjustability does increase the RPMs significantly which puts the engine in its power band a little bit better, but the penalty is significantly higher, RPMs, which makes it louder inside an already noisy car. The stock clutch I feel is better plus the Gilman tune for me would be the best choice.Hey yall, im fairly new to sxsing... my expedition is my first... having a few issues and im about to do my first belt change...aftermarket clutch pros and cons?
Agreed !! And the AA Stage Two Kit also "recommended" their exhaust to get the "most' out of the tune. (@Mattblack22)You might not think it helps much, but it all DOES work together. The tune needs the clutch kit to get the most out of it.
I agree that a tuned exhaust along with the tune, and the performance clutch kit if someone is looking for the absolute most power, but if noise is a consideration which it was for me, I got an aftermarket exhaust that was supposed to be quiet, but it was significantly louder than stock so I sold that and the clutch kit was performance oriented so it raised the RPMs more than stock so I put the max weights in it to reduce the RPMs back, again, in an effort to keep the noise down, so it just depends on what you’re looking for but the tune alone definitely was a significant improvement even without the exhaust and the higher RPM clutch tuningAgreed !!
