Hello everyone. I am looking at purchasing either an ADV5 or the XP5 Northstar. I really like the ADV but I have two concerns. one being is the air conditioning good enough to keep up on a 90° humid day in the sun with the added room of the open bed in the ADV and how much louder is the inside of the cab vs the XP. I currently have a 2020 defender max limited and on a 90° hot humid day. It’s all the AC can do to even make it bearable inside the cab with me and my family.

The A/C on the Xpedition is leagues better than the Defender. It could be better if Polaris put vents in the back seat area, but I haven’t heard anyone say it doesn’t keep the entire cabin cool.
For the noise difference between the XP and ADV, it’s only 1-2 decibels louder on the ADV.

When we got our XP5 it was August (in Texas) Took it for a ride on the blacktop with 4 adults. Between the heat from the blacktop and the engine and the btu's put off by 4 adults we were sweating. GF burnt her backside on the firewall at the rear seat.
Had Polaris check the refrigerant charge and it was fine. After that I spent $500 insulating everything that I could for both heat and sound. Also insulated my coolant line. Now the AC works better but still not great with 4 people and Texas heat and blacktop. Off road and going slower so not so much hot air blows in (and no blacktop) it works very good.
NO WAY would I buy the ADV model and live in Texas or some other hot climate.

Son in law has a Defender. He got the windows tinted dark. His AC isn't so good either as lots of heat comes in at the front dash. His machine is quiet though.....

A good ceramic window tint helps a lot to keep the cab cooler. I also put bubble foil insulation above the headliner. I live in AZ and have no problem keeping my 2 seater cool.
