Just got back from a great trip backpacking thru the western UP of Michigan on our ADV5. Put on 570 miles on in 7 days of riding. The ADV was everything I hoped for and handled better than I expected for being loaded with gear etc.
Here’s what I did, just drilled down through the roof into the sheet metal above the windshield. Made a couple bushings and ran a bolt thru it. Way solid now, just gotta paint bolts and washers.
Traded in my General 4 to a ADV5, we are from Iowa but love the UP of Michigan in the summer and winter. We recently retired and ready to do some Xploring with our new rig when we’re not hitting a rock concert.
