Looks to me like the Gilomen clutch is exactly like my AA. There are holes drilled in the arms and you just add or remove weights.
Having said that we have been riding in Colorado for 13 years. I have had my XP900 up there on stock clutching and it felt fine. I took my 16 Ranger up there. It had...
I am running the AA cruiser clutch kit and have as many weights as possible on it. I am down about 1000 rpm. High gear is way nicer. Now I can cruise at 40 mph and have a conversation. Low gear is still plenty low and I only use it for crawling rocks or real steep stuff as it's still noisy...
I sent Super ATV pictures of what the low profile Rock sliders look like a month or so ago. Hopefully they're going to have versions to fit machines with and without the low profile sliders
Polaris just come out with their new clutch kit for the 2024 models. The bulletin says all the 2025s will come with it. Only problem is you're going to lose part of your horsepower
Multiple places on the 'net say Colorado doesn't recognize SXS license plates from other states. So paying $800 to Dirt Legal is a waste of money
Here is an opinion from Jerry Abboud who is the Executive Director with COHVCO and he is also an attorney:
ATV not legal in CO...
I keep my belt in double ziplock bags, and a roll of blue shop towels in ziplock on one side. The other side has a small shovel. I access them my flipping the bed up.
I didn't check. I didn't insulate it for sound, insulated it for heat and cold. The majority of the sound that I can tell comes from the rear end.
From what I saw the sound deadening that did the best was what I put behind the seat and the rear firewall.
I did do an experiment where I covered...
So if my state doesn't allow registration, which state can I register it in?
Where we ride in Colorado allows it on some streets but not all streets and highways. We want to ride everywhere. Besides if a Amish buggy can go down the highway we should be able too!!
This is mine and it works great. I stuck a piece of sound deadener material to a piece of Reflectix. Made it long enough that when you shift gears the hole stays covered. Poke a hole in it and slip it down over the gear shift. and pull it up tight against the console. Works great and with the...
You are going to have to take the tunnel out and take it apart like I did. This entails tearing the dash apart as the tunnel will not come out until the lower dash is removed.
Tip: their are two screws in the front fender wells that you have to remove to get the lower dash out
The noise is not coming from the clutch itself. The aftermarket kits lower the rpm, which is what the Polaris fix will do.
The new Prostar engine has a very noisy valve train as compared to the old one. Not sure if they can do anything to quieten that up.
With the Aftermarket Assassin's...
The problem is they may "have" to service your vehicle but they can also make you wait for months. RV dealers are real bad about that. Car dealers can be too. Ford says they have to do all warranty work but if you bought it from some low baller out of state then you may be waiting a good long...
I run in high 95% of the time because it's quieter and geared low enough. I use low for rocks and rough terrain where I am going less than 5 mph. The AA cruiser clutch kit quietens High gear down great, low is still geared very low and louder.
Xpedition was pricey, Ranger is ridiculous. Xpedition after my mods (insulation and AA cruiser clutch) is nice. Ranger's bucket type seats and cheap shocks are a killer for me as far as rocky trail rides go..
When I buy a new Ranger it will be a Northstar for farm use but it won't be the HD1500.
Nothing. Just shove the wire up from the bottom. Or try from the top and come down.
I did take my die grinder and notched it slightly at the bottom for easier access
Big thick towels work in the car, both trucks and the Xpedition. When you are brought up a frugal German you don't buy stuff that isn't really needed. LOL Happy New Year!
You feed the wires in at the A pillar where the roll cage bolts to the frame. Then up on the roll cage (about the middle of the door) you will see a hole. They come out there then you can take them wherever you want. Guess you will be drilling a hole in the roof to wire the light bar
Why would you want a seat cover? My Ranger is 9 years old and the original vinyl still looks good. I use it on the farm everyday and I am usually covered in grease or dirt. All I gotta do is wipe the vinyl off.
Mine was warped. They replaced it and still warped. Polaris says to have the dealer order another. I seriously doubt they changed the mold so I left mine alone. If it leaks again with all of the new seals they sent me I will just fill it full of silicone caulk. Too much trouble to remove the...
Are you trying to remove the upper section of the dash or the lower section? If it's the lower section there's two screws on the front firewall. One for each side
I stuck a piece of Siless insulation to a piece of Thermo-Tec 13590 24" X 48" Adhesive Backed Heat Barrier. Slide the shifter shaft through the hole. Now when you move the shifter the insulation moves with it. Make the insulation long enough that it covers the open slot over the complete range...
Forgot to mention we took it down to a park in Louisiana where it was hot and muggy and very dusty. We rode around for 2 days at 5 to 10 miles an hour the AC worked very well
We had a 17 General deluxe with the full cab. It had those stupid windows in the doors that folded back and we hated them.
It was also on 62" wide and very tippy. Several times on Colorado switchbacks it tried to tip with us. Also too low to the ground and got stuck in the snow easily as the...
I have changed weights on my AA cruiser clutch several times and removing the Pack outs first makes it lots easier.. Plus I can remove the packout and use the bed for other carrying tasks. I just lay a piece of plywood over the packout mounts if carrying something like firewood that might damage...
I made floor mats so had to cut around the fire extinguisher. The mount is bolted to the rail with a piece of steel that fits in the slot (drilled and tapped)
You're welcome. I think I'm going to try 33-in Carnivores next time. I need something for the Colorado place good for snow, mud and rocks. The crawlers are good for rocks but not good for snow or mud
I took out the square pucks on my General as soon as I got it and put in the round ones from Hunter Works. Still worked fine after 7 years when I traded it in
@BADXP
Got the Crawlers on the Xpedition.
The 32"s that are on the Xpedition are Tusk Terrabytes 32x10x15. They are 30 1/4" tall at 12psi (that's with them installed on my Turbo R).
The 35" Crawlers are 35x10.5X15. At 12psi they are 32 /3/4" tall on the front and 32 1/4" on the rear mounted...
I did a survey for Polaris. And they called me about 2 weeks ago and said the same thing. I seriously doubt their clutch kit is better than the aftermarket assassin cruiser kit that I have now but I will see in to it. The main thing I see is the engine is very noisy itself. Especially the valve...
75 is a little wider than I like but it would work. I'm going to wait till we get some real world reviews out there. And maybe some other units from competitors
