The 2 people I know that have 35” tires on their Xpeditions haven’t done clutch kits yet. One of them is thinking of dropping down to 32”s because 35s makes it feel sluggish.
I’d think it would be highly recommended. The heavier springs in a clutch kit would reduce the chance of belt slippage.
Howdy and welcome to the forum 👋
Some of the things I never ride without them in my Xpedition are, spare belt, basic tool kit, tire inflator and plug kit.
As for machine accessories, a lot of that depends on how and where you ride. A light bar is really good for night rides. Mirrors were...
A little. Depends how much slide room the bottom latch has. Just pull 1 bolt and you should be able to see. You don’t want too much pressure on the latch but a slight amount of pull to latch the windshield is fine
My suspicion on the front end clunking problems is that it could be the A-arm bushings. On the 2 Xpeditions I’ve had in my shop, that had the bad clunking noises, both made the noise by just bouncing the suspension. Neither owner asked for it to be looked into, so I can’t confirm the suspicion...
Howdy, and welcome to the forum!
For the Polaris tipout windshield, there is a little adjustment you can do if needed. There’s a small set screw in the end of the windshield hinge that will need loosened (3mm Allen wrench), and then you can rotate the hinge bushing with a 10mm Allen wrench to...
There’s definitely been some poor quality control on many of these Xpeditions. Out of the 8 different Xpeditions I’ve worked on thus far, all of them needed the ride height adjusted. Two have had loose yokes, one on the transmission output shaft, one on the front diff. Two have had the bad...
As you can see, there’s nowhere to hook a puller on an Xpedition steering wheel. Removing this took less than 2 minutes in total and only took a couple taps with the flat end of the 24mm impact socket I loosened the nut with for it to pop loose.
Again, if you’re uncertain, it’s better to be...
I did the 50” rigid light bar up top and GG Lighting GP10 ambers on the bumper.
The rigid light bar does a phenomenal job, but it’s not very budget friendly. There are quite a few options from other manufacturers that work very well for a much lower price.
GG Lighting has really good quality...
Perhaps I should specify that what I described is for experienced mechanics or something… I’ve used that method on every Brand and nearly every model SxS, including multiple Xpeditions. There is risk of damage if not performed correctly, so definitely don’t attempt it if you’re not certain.
As...
Having two people to do this will make it much easier.
Park the machine with the wheels straight. Loosen the steering wheel nut to flush with end of the shaft. Then with one person pulling up on the steering wheel the other needs to hit the end of the shaft with a hammer.
YOU NEED TO BE VERY...
A lot of people are going with Milwaukee Packout coolers and boxes, myself included.
Several companies make Packout mounts for the Xpedition and the Packout system is very versatile with a ton of different box sizes and the coolers work quite well.
We haven’t bothered with that so far. It was only a 2 mph difference between mine when it still had 30s on it and my brother’s with 32s.
My guess would be to call Gilomen or Aftermarket Assassins to see if they can.
For everyday use on my Xpedition I use Packout soft coolers. They’ll keep ice for a day and a half. But for camping, we use Lifetime coolers. They’ll keep ice for 3+ days in the southern Nevada summer heat and are less expensive than Yetis.
Come to think about it, I believe we still have my cousin’s paddle set with those super light wheels in my shop still. I’ll have to check their weights tomorrow.
I mounted up a set of the same tires on the set of Raceline Beadlocks I had on my Xpedition previously. They come in at 57.0 Lbs. Putting the Raceline wheels 2.8 lbs heavier.
I’d honestly be surprised if there’s any beadlocks that are lighter than Packard’s
74.5 overall width.
I have the Ryco turn signal kit.
For usage, I prefer Ryco. Turn signal, horn and hazards all in the single column mounted switch. You don’t have to use up spare switch spots for horn and hazards.
For installation, I much prefer W. D. Electronics turn signal kit. It’s a...
Considering all the extra hardware in the Packard beadlock wheel, I’d say it’s pretty good to keep that close the plain stock wheel.
If I ever do another set of them I’ll try to remember to weigh them
I think the majority of that weight difference is the tire. I didn’t weigh just the Packard wheel but the website says 17.5 lbs
Weighing a stock wheel it says 17.4 lbs.
Just finished installing new tires and wheels. These are Packard Performance S5 Beadlock Wheels with 3.5x3.5 offset and Maxxis Carnivore 32/10 R15 Tires. I’m loving the new look 😊
Only ones I’ve been able to find are these 2 piece adapters.

They’re probably not the best as it drops to a 10mm stud.
I modified the shock tool that comes in the tool kit with the Xpedition so that works like a crow’s foot. A 24” breaker bar makes adjustments much easier and adding extensions brings it down where I can get more swing.
Your dealer must be checking and adjusting them pre delivery 👍🏻
I’ve just finished adjusting the 6th Xpeditions ride height. Every one of them were bottomed out on the rear and 3/8 down on the front.
(Also an update on adjustments, rear shocks are 2:1… I was told 1:1 on the rears but found...
Polaris has their basic solution which is just different clutch weights that lower the cruising rpm. You should be able to ask your dealer for it if that’s what you’re looking for.
I doubt they’ll be doing anything more than that.
It’s the Polaris HD bumper for the Xpedition

Where the grill plate is on it you can do the upgrade 6000lb high mount winch, or just leave the stock 4500lb winch like mine
It should definitely be higher than that at that RPM. Especially with larger tires. My guess would be either the clutch isn’t getting the full stroke travel or it might be the belt. We’ve found that different belts can affect the speed range.
First question would be, is that in comfort mode or standard and sport?
Second question is what’s your RPMs when topped out.
Pre tune, my Xpedition would top out at around 62-63 mph and 7800ish rpm. Post tune I’ve pushed above 70 and rpm peaks at 8900 but usually settles to 8700.
Even after...
