First couple tanks are already somewhat in line with what my general did. 9.5mpg on the low end to 12.75 on the high end. 2 trips doesn’t really tell the whole story though so I’ll keep posting mpg updates as I get them. I definitely agree any of Northstars will get lower mileage because of...

I expect/hope the mpg will come up a bit. I definitely don’t expect to see 200 miles out of a tank, but it’ll need to at least average around the 12-13 mpg range to match the General

Razorback Offroad does some of the best SxS racks I’ve seen. I didn’t get any of the Polaris bed accessories because I plan to get whatever RBO comes out with. Hopefully they won’t be too long.

Yes, it’s the base model with just the powdercoat and spare tire upgrades. They’re awesome for serious camping, but also versatile for when we need to carry more than will fit in just the machine. The Ranger is my Brother’s and oh yeah, he’s got a sweet build going on 🙂. Turbo, HCR Suspension...

Soon as my brother shares pictures of his camping trip he just finished, I can post some pictures of his setup. We both have the same Xpedition XP 5 Ultimate but a little different trailer setup.

This was pre Xpedition but I haven’t gone actually camping yet since getting my new machine. The couple rides I pulled it on was to see how the Xpedition did with towing a trailer. Hopefully it’ll cool down enough soon to get back out camping. 🙂

You ordered an Xpedition to replace...?

Waiting to see who comes out with them first between Ryco and W. D. Electronics. It’s sounding like Ryco might but they’ve been behind on getting even General kits out, according to our dealer.

Back seats, front seats and other storage

All of this is on the XP. I know the seat tops fold down on the ADVs but don’t know if the bottoms fold up.

You ordered an Xpedition to replace...?

Congrats! Yeah, I’m still waiting on interior dome lamps, wide fender flares, recovery shackles, Turn signal kit and the harness for the 50” light bar (we basically built our own so we could get the light bar installed and working).

Is it better than anything else out there?

The Yamaha Rmax has a 10 year belt warranty. You’ll never see a can-am or Polaris with that. The new Xpedition has the same Primary and secondary clutches as the ‘24 XP1000 RZR. It’s also the same gen2 motor and unlike previously, they didn’t dumb it down from the RZR. It’s got the same 114 hp...

Ran another short one today. All with the trailer. Started at 5900ft elevation and went up to about 8600ft. And back down a different route. 49.7 miles, 4.123 gallons 12.05 mpg. The group was a little slower today so that may have helped the mileage. This is my setup 😊

Back seats, front seats and other storage

The back seats do flip up. It makes it easy to use the Packout system or gives lots of room if you have pets that ride. I never have carried a spare and so far haven’t ever needed one but I also have beadlocks so if push came to shove I could do as you said and run on it. Part of my basic...

    MPG

Just finished my first full run. 90.3 miles, 9.054 gallons. 9.97mpg 23 miles of that was just the machine. The rest was pulling a camp trailer weighing around 1,100#. The trip with the trailer started around 5500ft elevation and went up to around 8500 so there was a fair bit of hill climbing.

Back seats, front seats and other storage

There’s enough room for full sized Packout plates on each side with the medium thickness Packout box going a little under the seats. (Just got back from a ride so it’s nicely dirty) I did 2 full Packout plates in the bed, to the sides and it leaves plenty room in between for a 6 gallon gas...

    Dealership Pre-Order?

I can confirm these machines are comfortable. The front seats in my XP5 Ultimate have slightly more bolstering than the General, the power steering is extremely smooth and easy to steer and the ride is so much smoother than my 2019 General 4 was with $5k into the suspension. The rear seats are...

    Adding Insulation and Sound Deadener

Nope. There’s 2 #40 torx bolts on the front on each side, 3 on the bottom side edges and one at the center rear. (Note: the front 4 and center rear are slightly longer than the 6 side ones). Then ten 10mm bolts with cup washers. Once those are all out just pull down in the center of the...

    Heads up new Xpedition owners

Another thing to watch is the large coolant hose running along the right hand side of the motor. It’s unsupported and unsecured from where it hooks into the motor to where it goes into the tunnel. There multiple rub points that could cause major issues if left as is. It’s the same on my...

    Adding Insulation and Sound Deadener

Just an update on the insulation topic on my XP 5 Ultimate. Mine is overall quieter than my general was, but it was blowing hot air straight up the shift lever. I pulled the center console box out to see what would need done to block the hot air and it’s completely open under there to the...

We got to drive the all-new Polaris Expedition at Sand Hollow and I wasn’t expecting this!

They are crazy smooth. And the power steering is the other thing I’ve noticed. It’s way easier/smoother than the general was. These are some impressive machines.

After spending 2 and a half days installing accessories on my Brother’s Xpedition XP 5 I finally got around to installing my own. MPG

9.29 mpg doesn’t seem too bad for first run. The Northstars will likely get the worst mileage of all of them due to the A/C and Alternator power leeching. Aftermarket Assassins put theirs on a dyno and it showed an instant 6hp drop just from turning the A/C on. Still, that’s a far cry from the...

    Adding Insulation and Sound Deadener

From what I hear on the ADVs, they need all the help they can get with noise reduction. With the XP having the cargo area separated it’s not as big of an issue. They’re still noisy but doesn’t seem like much difference from the General 4 I upgraded from.

Polaris XPEDITION Launch Camping Weekend Vlog!

100% agree. I’ll be blown away if these things get even 160 miles on a tank. I do expect to see a small increase in economy though. Guess the best way to tell will be to track the first 10 tanks of gas and average the first 5 to the last 5 or something like that

Polaris XPEDITION Launch Camping Weekend Vlog!

It’s not going to be ecu programming. It’s just normal for any internal combustion engine to run less efficiently until the piston rings wear in to fully seat on the liner and manufacture tolerances of gears and such to smooth out with a little wear.

Polaris XPEDITION Launch Camping Weekend Vlog!

I’d assume they’ll get a little better mileage after a good break in period. Also most everyone that did those launch rides had their foot into it the entire time. Even with all that I’d be highly surprised if they get 160 miles after the break in and with normal driving.

    Greetings

My brother and I pre-ordered them the first day we could and ours were the first 2 to ship to our dealer. They still haven’t got any of the XP Northstars or any ADVs yet. Originally the portal said 7/30 ship date and then suddenly jumped and shipped on 7/3. We lucked out I guess 😊

    Greetings

Lol if it gets scratched and dinged, I want to be the one to do it 😂 I like the color too but if I’d known my brother ordered it this color I would’ve went with the army green. We also ordered pretty much the same accessories except he got the 6000# winch and I didn’t.
