Several people here have experienced the same thing with the brakes. I think they get better as you get more miles on them and they get bedded in better.

I let all my vehicles warm up until the idle drops and the engine has a second to warm up. Depending on the temperature outside, this usually varies from 10 seconds to a minute. I always cringe when my wife jumps in her car, starts it up, and backs out before the idle has a chance to drop.
