Bought my new adv2 a few weeks ago... on my first ride I notice my tip out windshield is cracked. It started as a small hairline crack on passenger side window strut mount. And rapidly expanded from there. Hadn't been on any trails at that point. Just open parking lot. Nothing had hit it. No rocks ect. Anyone else have or had this issue?
Polaris dealer did get a replacement under warranty.
Today I pick up new windshield but I worry it'll happen again. At $1,500 a pop I'm concerned. Report similar issues here and any resolution you have found to prevent this. Thanks in advance.

This has been a concern of mine with the Northstar and glass. We have some Rangers on the farm and the glass cracks just from frame flex going through a road ditch. I was hoping Polaris had fixed this but it appears a utv and glass still don’t go hand in hand 🙄

I have a Ranger XP900 (2015) with nearly 5k miles. It's been all over the farm, through ditches and creeks and the front glass has never cracked. Also put Super ATV a arms and a lift kit and took it on the Colorado rocks and still no cracks..
You either got a bad bunch of glasses or bad drivers

As far as the Xpedition goes, from posts I have seen they crack when somebody opens the front glass. They grab it too far out on the handle and the leverage breaks the glass

You might want to start trailering it backed on your trailer like I do. I started doing that because of the wind causing the front of the roof to flop and to protect that $1500 windshield. Or you can get a padded windshield cover from Pro Fab outdoors like I have for my Ranger

My windshield didn’t crack but the metal frame that is attached on the inside of the windshield that secures the release handle came off; the entire frame just fell off! This is one of five quality issues that I’ve had with my rig before it’s even been on a trail. The door locks didn’t lock, the AC did not work, the backup camera malfunctioned and the door weather stripping came off. Polaris corporate would not give me the time of day, and they ignored the dealer’s request for help. Thankfully I have a great dealer who is swapping me into a different unit. I’ve been a loyal customer and owned five Polaris products over the years. Polaris could care a less.

I have 2,000 miles on my 2dr XP Northstar, no windshield cracks, but when I trailer it in the rain the center hinge/wiper motor and right hinge leak. Water runs right down over the ride command, and toggle switches. I have not taken it back to the dealer yet.

Try trailering it backed on your trailer. I know you shouldn't have to do that, but it will probably solve the problem. I started doing it because I didn't like the front of the roof overhang flopping. It's not just a polaris thing, I've had that same issue with a Teryx4 and Mule Pro

Thanks for all the advice everyone. All suggestions are duly noted. As far as reverse trailering it. I drive a 32 ft motorhome when I trailer mine and the wind doesn't seem to get to it nor does the roof flex when having it on trailer because the rv is so tall.
I haul that and the wife's pro xp with the xpedition in front forward facing. I have been on a couple 300 mile one way trips with this setup so far and as of now no cracks thankfully.
As far as the handle flexing and cracking it... yes I've heard issues of that as well but I always grab mine on the handle latch which is the closest to the windshield mount you can grab.
I no longer ride with windshield open which sucks because I don't want it to crack. It's kinda pointless having a tip out that you can't tip out n ride. The breeze is amazing from it. I think they should of just made solid windshield from factory honestly. That's basically what your stuck with it seems.

I have no concerns rolling windshield open. I would lean toward your original had some sort of defect or damage from the start.
