5150 12" whip lite

Doing it now. Waiting on the brackets to complete. Wired and ready to go. I used tail light pig tail for power since the ones I bought only need power as they included a remote for all; on/off, color schemes etc. I didn't want to go thru all the work of wiring it thru the rear and the dash etc. I prefer not taking all the front end/dash stuff apart.

DREAMOTOR Whip Lights, 2Pcs 1FT Fat Spiral RGB LED Whip Lights for Side by Side with Wireless Remote and APP Control, bought all on Amazon.

I looked on Amazon and found two different lights one was $109 and the other was $56 both with the same description as you had in your post any idea what the difference is? I'd look and couldn't find anything. Also trying to figure out what mounting bracket works on the expedition AdV 5

Mine were $109 for both (2) including remote. The brackets have not arrived yet, they are

Nilight UTV Whip Light Mount 2PCS Flag Antenna Mounting Brackets Adjustable for Pro-fit

Also on Amazon.
There is a YouTube video on fat whips with someone who has put them on there xPedition, you should check it out. Not sure if they are the same as what I bought.

Just checking because I don't have my unit with me it's at the shop getting some things added. Are you sure that the brackets that you mentioned will fit on the ADV5 next to the back window? Before I order just wanted to make sure. Thank you very much

Not sure waiting to get them and try them out, but my hope is that they will fit since they fit the PRO cage which I believe is the same support bars, not completely round. If they don't I will post but I think they well. The Youtube video on an xPedition with the same lights seem to have them.

Check out them on also note the brackets he is using, I think they are what I have ordered. https://amzn.to/3Rgs4iu

Thanks I look forward to hearing when you get them. Appreciate the info. I have looked at the YouTube videos but haven't found one with an ADV5 specific insulation That's what I was worried about

An expensive alternative is to: mount 2 foot tall thick whip lots on Polaris / rhino roof rack. Polaris / rhino have a fold down mount for trailer travel and when you want to get them below the overhanging branches, garage door, etc. don't have to remove them at all from the machine. I have two whips but I've only mounted one and saving the spare for when I screw up and forget to fold it down. I have found out that the whips are pretty damn durable however.

Thank you sir I will take a look at that on Amazon. What brackets did you order and did you put two or one?
I bought those whips dream motor 12-in, I found brackets for an ADV5 but I found that the base of the whip will not allow the window to open on the back. I did some MacGyvering and ground off a flat spot but wasn't thinking that the actual whip was the same size and there isn't enough room to grind off the same amount to allow the window to close. Any ideas?

Sorry don't have an ADV5 so can't help with the window issue. However, on the wiring you might consider running the lites off a pig tail plugged into the rear tail lites. Worked for me, since they have a remote controller to manage the lights.

The main issue is not being able to open the back window I think I understand the wiring to the tail lights. Thank you very much

It's been a waste of my time and money, at this point can't return anything. So I'm still trying to find someone that has put a 12-in whip on the back of a Polaris expedition ADV5 that will not interfere with the back window

I ordered a pair of these today. I was told that they do not hinder the operation of the rear window.

I was told the same thing that everything would fit. Not not, I did my best MacGyvering on it and there's still no way that it will work. If you have a bracket that fits the rear frame of the r o p s please let me know. Do you have an ADV5 with the full enclosure including the back window that is similar to a shell on a truck? I think it would work on the ADV but it does not on an ADV5. Looking at your link it appears that the mounting is at the very top of the r o p does that give it enough room at that location? I wanted the whip to be behind so it would be mounted towards the bottom so it would not affect being above the roof. In that location it will not work. I had to edit because I just realized that all the photographs on the vengeance site show the mount at the very very top. I did not want the 12-in whips above the roof level and at that level they will not fit.
