Decided to add a quick/cheap barrier between the cab and dog box. Works great and easy to add/remove. It’s a moving blanket with some sound deadening material behind it. Figured it could also help keep the heat/ac in the cab better. I didn’t put the DB meter to it but I’m happy and that’s a calibrated device! 
. I may adjust the hooks to close off the gap some but it’s not that big. I don’t use my rear view mirror so it’s not an issue for me Hope this helps someone. Good luck guys
